Change report
The Group Finder suggests every new dungeon 2 levels past Blizzard's range
Blizzard posted level ranges for the nine new dungeons. The game's Group Finder agrees on the bottom and runs 2 levels higher at the top. Two Classic dungeons open earlier, and the Legacy dungeon challenges cut the levels their own way.
Blizzard posted a level table for the nine new dungeons on Sep 15, then moved Excavation Site in the Oct 1 notes. Blizzard · Sep 15 The game’s Group Finder has its own numbers: the lowest level that can queue, and the highest it suggests. Four of the new dungeons are in it so far. Game files · build 70245
| Dungeon | Blizzard | Group Finder | Changed in build 70009 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hall of Thanes | 13-18 | 13-20 | suggested 22 → 20 |
| Ruins of Lordaeron | 15-20 | 15-22 | 11-24 → 15-22 |
| Excavation Site | 26-31 (Oct 1; 24-29 on Sep 15) | 26-33 | 22-35 → 26-33 |
| City of Dalaran | 28-33 | 28-35 | 24-37 → 28-35 |
The bottom of each range matches Blizzard’s, and the top sits 2 levels higher. Build 70009 narrowed all four. The other five new dungeons are encrypted, so only Blizzard’s table covers them: Drowned City 35-40, Krol’dok Stronghold 40-45, Alcaz Prison 48-53, Blackmaw Hold 55-60 and Shaper’s Terrace 58-60.
Two Classic dungeons open earlier

The Legacy challenges count differently
Blizzard’s Legacy article describes the three dungeon challenges as the last boss of every dungeon for levels 15 to 25, 26 to 45 and 46 to 60. Blizzard · Sep 23 The achievements in the files list the dungeons by name, and a few land outside those bands: Game files · build 70245
- Novice Spelunker includes Excavation Site, which the Group Finder opens at 26.
- Master Spelunker includes Razorfen Downs (37-46) and Uldaman (41-51).
- Stormwind Stockade (24-32) isn’t in any of them.
- Hall of Thanes can stand in for Ragefire Chasm in Novice Spelunker: the achievement asks for “Ragefire Chasm or Hall of Thanes”.
The full lists, with every dungeon linked, are on the Legacy page. Each dungeon’s own page has its wings, bosses and levels: all dungeons by level.
