The short version. Browsing Bind on Forever sets no cookies and runs no analytics or ad trackers. There are no accounts. We only have what you send us: an email, a form, an order. We don’t sell your information or share it for advertising.
Who we are
Bind on Forever (bindonforever.com), a sole proprietorship based in Missouri, USA, trading under that name, is responsible for the information described here. Questions or requests: hello@bindonforever.com.
When you browse
- No cookies. The one cookie on the site belongs to the tester area: entering the tester password at bindonforever.com/beta sets a cookie that keeps you signed in for 30 days. It holds nothing about you.
- What your browser keeps. To remember how you left things, the site keeps a few settings in your browser: the character you set up (its class, race and level), the pages you visited recently (for the search box), and, in the tester area, the name you sign feedback with. They stay on your device and are never sent to us. Clearing your browser’s data for the site removes them.
- Cloudflare. The site runs on Cloudflare, which handles every request, including your IP address and browser details, to deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks (Cloudflare’s privacy policy). We don’t use any of it to identify you or follow you around.
- No analytics. If we ever add visitor counts, they’ll come from a tool that sets no cookies, and this page will say so first.
When you write to us
Email to hello@bindonforever.com comes to us through Cloudflare Email Routing and lands in our Gmail (Google). Our replies go out through Resend. We keep the conversation as long as it’s useful for helping you, and delete it if you ask, unless we need it for a reason under “How long we keep things”.
Tester feedback
The feedback form in the tester area sends us the name you type (any name you like), your note, a screenshot if you add one, the newest test version at the time, and the time. We use it to fix the guide. It’s stored with Cloudflare.
Partner applications
The application at bindonforever.com/partners sends us your name, email, channel and other links, audience size, how you’d share the guide, the code you’d like, the version of the partner terms you accepted, and the time. Cloudflare adds the country your connection comes from. We store it with Cloudflare and get a copy by email through Resend. To stop spam, we count applications from each IP address for one hour; the count then deletes itself.
If you become a partner, we also keep your PayPal details for payouts, the tax form the law requires, and a record of the sales made with your code or link. Your statements show dates and amounts, never who bought.
When you buy a guide pack
- Paddle runs checkout as the Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your payment details and what it needs for tax (such as your country), under Paddle’s privacy notice. We never see your card details.
- From Paddle we receive your email, your country, what you bought, the price, and the order number.
- We ask for your BattleTag to bind your import string to your Battle.net account.
- We keep the order, your email and your BattleTag, stored with Cloudflare, to deliver your pack, send it again if you lose it, handle refunds, and stop strings from being shared. Your import string comes in an email sent through Resend.
The addon
The BoF Guide addon can’t connect to the internet; World of Warcraft doesn’t allow it. What it records stays in your game folder on your computer. We only see it if you paste it into the feedback form or send it to us.
Who else handles your information
- Cloudflare: hosting, storage, and our email routing
- Google: the Gmail inbox our email arrives in
- Resend: the emails we send
- Paddle: checkout, payment, tax and refunds
- PayPal: partner payouts
We share information with anyone else only when the law requires it, or to protect the site or the people who use it from fraud or abuse. If Bind on Forever is ever taken over by someone else, this information would go with it, under this policy.
How long we keep things
- Emails: as long as they’re useful for helping you.
- Tester feedback: until 90 days after launch, then deleted.
- Partner applications we don’t take up: 12 months.
- Orders, partner records and tax forms: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Anything else we hold, we keep only as long as we need it for the reason we have it.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and we’ll answer within 30 days. We may need to check it’s you, usually by replying from the email we have. We keep what the law makes us keep (for example, tax records), and we’ll tell you if that applies.
If you’re in the EU, the UK or somewhere with similar laws, you can also object to how we use your information, ask us to limit it, ask for it in a form you can take elsewhere, and complain to your data protection authority. We use your information to do what you asked us to (an order, a partner payout, an answer to your email), for our legitimate interest in running and protecting the site and fixing the guide, and to meet our legal obligations.
If you’re in California, you have the rights to know, delete and correct; we don’t sell or share personal information, and we won’t treat you differently for using your rights.
Where your information is
We’re in the United States, and so are most of the services above, so your information is handled there. Where the law asks for it, those services protect information sent from the EU and UK with safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Children
The site isn’t meant for children under 13 (under 16 in the EU), and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has sent us something, write to us and we’ll delete it.
Keeping it safe
The site only runs over HTTPS, passwords and keys are kept out of our code, and only we can get at what’s stored. No system is perfectly safe, and we’ll tell you if something of yours is affected by a breach.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. If a change affects partners or buyers, we’ll email them before it takes effect.
