WoW Forever Invite-A-Friend codes: what they give, who gets them and when they arrive

WoW Forever Invite-A-Friend Launch Codes start arriving by email on October 20, 2026 (Pacific time). Each code lets one friend play WoW Forever during launch week, November 4 to 11, without a subscription or game time. This is everything Blizzard has said about them, from its own posts, and what it hasn’t said yet.

Which WoW Forever editions include Invite-A-Friend codes

From Blizzard’s pre-purchase post of September 12:

Edition	Invite-A-Friend codes
Skyborne Heroic Pack	1
Skyborne Epic Pack	3 in total
Warcraft Forever Collection	3 in total
Collector’s Edition	comes with a Warcraft Forever Collection code

WoW Forever itself is included with a World of Warcraft subscription or game time. The codes come with the paid upgrade editions, which add things like the Skyborne race, Early Name Reservation and a mount. Blizzard’s Collector’s Edition post only says qualifying purchases include “one or more” codes.

How to send a code to a friend

1. Watch your email from October 20.
2. Copy the code from the email.
3. Send it to the friend you want to invite, however you like.
4. Your friend redeems it through Battle.net.

From November 4 at 3:00 p.m. PST, when WoW Forever launches, to November 11, your friend can play without a subscription or game time.

What the codes don’t do

• No beta access. Blizzard says the launch codes don’t include it. The beta runs to October 21, its last full day of testing, and the stress test on October 21 is open to any account anyway.
• Only launch week. The window is November 4 to 11, 2026, Pacific time.

What Blizzard hasn’t said yet

• What “eligible” friends means. Blizzard’s posts say codes go to “eligible friends” and “eligible invitees” without saying who qualifies. A player who already has a subscription doesn’t need one.
• What happens to the friend’s characters after November 11. Nothing in the posts says they’re deleted or locked. To keep playing, a friend needs a subscription or game time.

We’ll add the answers here when Blizzard posts them.

Leveling with the friend you invite

A friend who joins for launch week has one week, so a shared start helps. If you and your friend pick different races, the free BoF Guide, our WoW Forever in-game leveling guide, can follow either start’s road: open its menu from the seal at the top of the guide window and choose Leveling routes, then Another start’s road (new in 0.9.76). All the dates from now to launch are on what’s new.
