WoW Forever’s leveling road goes through two new zones after level 30, Blizzard showed in a new video on October 19: Riverglades, and Mount Hyjal as the climax of the journey to 60. The video also names a new 10-player raid inside Hyjal, the Barrow Deeps. The levels below come from the game’s Group Finder, build 1.60.1.70450.
Riverglades: the new zone for levels 33 to 54
Riverglades picks up where older roads ended, in zones like Redridge Mountains, and it’s open to both factions, like Stranglethorn Vale.
- Alliance: the Brotherhood of the Horse, a faction from Warcraft II. They’re the elite knights of Stormwind who refused Turalyon’s march through the Dark Portal to keep hunting the Horde’s remnants. They broke with Stormwind and the Alliance for good, and they hold Farholde Keep.
- Horde: the Bolder’ok ogre clan, former Twilight’s Hammer who broke away from its madness and now fight for the plains against the humans of Farholde.
- Both: the Twilight’s Hammer hold Twilight’s Shroud, the old Horde’s westernmost stronghold, and Krol’dok Stronghold, the new dungeon for levels 40 to 45.
Blizzard’s video promises quests like wrecking a pirate operation and rescuing a horse. Deep in ogre land there’s the Bloodmasters’ Ring, a fighting pit where you face the ogres’ best brawlers.
Mount Hyjal: the climax of leveling, 55 to 60
Mount Hyjal has been sealed by Malfurion and the druids for five years. In WoW Forever, Blizzard says, the road opens for the first time since the Third War. You work with the Druids of the Talon and the Cenarion Circle to heal the land after the Battle of Mount Hyjal, while Horde and Alliance tensions inside flare up again. One quest line follows a Curious Crow who has found warlocks working for the Wild King.
The Barrow Deeps, a new 10-player raid
Inside Mount Hyjal lies the Barrow Deeps, WoW Forever’s new 10-player raid: in Blizzard’s words, a prison that once held “Azeroth’s most infamous betrayer”. Its data is encrypted in the beta client, so its bosses and loot aren’t readable yet. Blizzard also showed an old crater in Hyjal kept for duels, which is in our notes on the PvP podcast.
