WoW Forever build 70707: Darkmoon Faire dates are set, the zombie spells reach the client, and proc roots get their own diminishing returns

WoW Forever build 70707 gives the Darkmoon Faire its calendar: Elwynn Forest from November 9, Thunder Bluff from December 7. The zombie plague spells are now in the client, and proc roots get a separate diminishing returns group.

An open ledger with blank pages and a brass magnifying lens on a stone table, for the WoW Forever build 70707 report

WoW Forever build 70707 reached the client on Oct 30, five days before launch. It gives the Darkmoon Faire its first real dates and writes most of the Oct 28 server changes into the game files, so what the servers already sent is in the client too.

Darkmoon Faire dates in WoW Forever

The two Darkmoon Faire entries in the game’s calendar had no dates until this build. Now they do, and each visit lasts a week:

Starts Where
November 9, 2026 Elwynn Forest
December 7, 2026 The foot of Thunder Bluff
January 4, 2027 Elwynn Forest
February 8, 2027 The foot of Thunder Bluff

Blizzard hasn’t posted these dates, so they’re the client’s word only, and they can change. Five days after launch is a quick first visit, and the team named the Faire on its last podcast as the model for events that come and go.

The zombie plague spells are in the client

The zombie plague spells came from the server on Oct 28. Build 70707 adds them to the game files, 2008’s spells and Forever’s own Ravenous Claw and Hunger… with them. There’s still no date, no zombie creature and no quest, and the calendar has no entry for it.

Proc roots get their own diminishing returns

Build 70707 adds a Root (proc) group for diminishing returns, apart from the Root group. It holds these roots:

Both groups work the same way: repeat hits halve the duration, and the count resets after 15 sec. That matters most in PvP.

Class changes in build 70707

  • Mage: Critical Mass has 3 ranks, 2/4/6% crit on Fire spells, and Incineration has 5, up to 10% on Fire Blast, Ice Lance, Arcane Blast and Scorch. Before this build the rank counts were the other way round. The talent calculator shows the new trees.
  • Paladin: the client has Righteous Fury at level 10 (it was 16).

Molten Core gear with new item IDs

Spoiler warning for raid loot. The build adds 106 items with new IDs, among them Earthshaker, Choker of the Fire Lord and Band of Sulfuras, and nine new set entries for the Tier 1 sets such as Battlegear of Might. The set bonuses match Classic’s, word for word. The items are still placeholders in the client, with no real stats, so we can’t say how they differ from the originals.

Every change

Everything, internal settings included, is on the build 70707 page. The WoW Forever launch time is still 3:00 p.m. PST on November 4; Blizzard repeated it on Oct 29.

Questions

When is the Darkmoon Faire in WoW Forever?

WoW Forever's build 70707 calendar puts the Darkmoon Faire in Elwynn Forest for a week from November 9, 2026, then at the foot of Thunder Bluff from December 7, and back in Elwynn Forest from January 4, 2027. Blizzard hasn't posted these dates; they're from the client.

What changed in WoW Forever build 70707?

Build 70707 adds Darkmoon Faire dates and the zombie plague spells to the client, moves proc roots to their own diminishing returns group, changes the ranks of two Mage talents and writes the Oct 28 server changes into the game files.

Do roots share diminishing returns in WoW Forever?

Not all of them. In build 70707 proc roots, such as Frostbite and Entrapment, moved to a Root (proc) group, separate from cast roots. Each group halves the duration on repeat hits and resets after 15 sec.
