What the developers said
Blizzard's developers on its podcast, panels and streams, newest first. Each line sums up what they said at that moment, and the badge says how it holds up against the game files.
Not in the files Aggrend: the streamer Ashenvale world-PvP battle on beta had 'a couple hundred at least' players, not a thousand. Each zone still has a maximum player count. He says six hours of beta yields more useful data than six months of internal automated testing, and calls it the best large-scale performance of any WoW version he has worked on.
The files Battle size and internal testing; not in data.

What creators found, checked
From beta videos by bigger WoW creators. Each line sums up what the creator said at that moment of the video, and the badge says how it holds up against the game files.
Not in the files The Horde town guards in Ashenvale are strong enough to wipe a raid. Xaryu's Alliance raid pushed into the town, blamed the guards for losing, and avoided pulling guards afterwards.
The files Guard strength is server-side creature data.

Not in the files A roughly 1,000-player Ashenvale world PvP battle organized by streamers during the beta ran with far less lag than in previous classic-style tests.
The files Battle size is not in data. Aggrend (claim 0fe1a78fc19e) says it was 'a couple hundred at least', not 1,000.

In Blizzard's notes
- Not in the files
Increased the respawn rate across many different creatures and objects in Hillsbrad Foothills, Ashenvale, Wetlands, Duskwood, and Thousand Needles.
Developers' note: Redridge Mountains and Stonetalon Mountains were adjusted in a previous build. Please continue to submit any areas where you have difficulty completing quests, and we will continue to make adjustments.
The files Respawn rates are server-side.
