Last Stand kept Classic's tooltip and changed its heal, until build 70291
For most of the beta, Last Stand's buff used an aura that in later WoW keeps your health percentage, a much smaller save at low health. Build 70291 put Classic's aura back; Blizzard calls it a fix. The cooldown is 3 min, was 10.

Instant3 min cooldown
When activated, this ability temporarily grants you 30% of your maximum health for 20 sec. After the effect expires, the health is lost.
Warriors press
Last Stand when a pull goes wrong. In Classic it raised your max health by 30% and added the same amount to your current health. Until build 70291, Forever’s buff used a different aura, one that in later versions of WoW scales your current health so you stay at the same percentage. Game files · build 70245

The same 30%, a different heal
Take a warrior with 5,000 max health. Either version raises max health to 6,500 for 20 seconds. They split on where your current health lands, if aura 230 behaves the way it does in later clients.
| Health when you press it | Classic | Forever (if aura 230 keeps your percentage) |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 (20%) | 2,500, so +1,500 | 1,300, so +300 |
| 2,500 (50%) | 4,000, so +1,500 | 3,250, so +750 |
| 5,000 (100%) | 6,500, so +1,500 | 6,500, so +1,500 |
At full health nothing changes. At 20% you’d get a fifth of the Classic heal: 6% of your old max instead of 30%.
The trade
The cooldown went from 10 minutes to 3, so a 30-minute dungeon fits up to 10 presses instead of 3. Before build 70291, each press above half health added a real chunk, and as a last-second save it added very little.
For Hardcore, that would have moved Last Stand to the start of a bad pull. At 20% health on a 5,000-health warrior it would have added 300 health. Since build 70291 it adds the full 1,500 again.
