WoW Forever's nine new dungeons: levels, where they are, and how to get into Dalaran
Blizzard listed WoW Forever's nine new dungeons on Oct 20, from Hall of Thanes at 13 to Shaper's Terrace at 60. Their levels and entrances, Dalaran's attunement, and the one level the game files disagree with.

WoW Forever has nine new five-player dungeons, Blizzard said in a post on Oct 20: six in the Eastern Kingdoms and three in Kalimdor, from Hall of Thanes at level 13 to Shaper’s Terrace at 60. Here they are with their levels and entrances, and one level that the game files disagree with.

Two of the low ones sit in the other faction’s home. Hall of Thanes is a short walk for the Alliance from Ironforge, while the Horde has to cross Alliance land to reach it. Ruins of Lordaeron is the reverse: next to the Undercity for the Horde, a trip into Horde territory for the Alliance.
The Excavation Site’s level: 26, not 24
Blizzard’s Oct 20 post gives the Excavation Site as 24–29. That’s the range from before the beta’s changes: Blizzard’s Development Notes of Oct 1 moved it to 26–31, and the Group Finder in the beta’s files (build 1.60.1.70450) lists it from 26, up to 33. We go by the notes and the files. Every other level in the post matches what we already had; the Group Finder lets you queue a few levels above each range.
How to get into Dalaran: the attunement quests
The City of Dalaran needs an attunement quest line before you can run it:
- Alliance: start with An Alarming Request from Emissary Jacques in Southshore, Hillsbrad Foothills.
- Horde: start with Key to the City and Prison Break-In from Magus Wordeen Voidglare in Tarren Mill.
Players’ quest data in Questie puts all three at level 30 to pick up, so plan on 30 even though the dungeon is listed from 28. Once the Kirin Tor trust you, your group goes in through the sewers and works up into the city, with a choice of paths and bosses on the way. The bosses we’ve seen so far are on our City of Dalaran page.
Getting into the others
- The Drowned City rose from the sea off Stranglethorn: you dive below the water to find its entrance, and the open-air dungeon turns from mist and rain into a storm before its last boss.
- The Excavation Site lies above Whelgar’s Excavation, near Thelgen Rock and Dun Algaz.
- Shaper’s Terrace wants power crystals: gather them around Un’Goro Crater and use them at consoles inside.
- Blackmaw Hold is a furbolg city behind a long-sealed gate in Azshara, with several routes and bosses, and Blizzard hints at a way even farther down.
- Alcaz Prison opens at last, with the Defias Brotherhood and naga fighting inside.
Leveling through them
